PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)– The City of Providence announced that their school zone speed cameras will begin activation on Wednesday, the same date the school year begins in the capital city.

The cameras will be operational from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on all school days, according to a city spokesperson.

Any drivers going more than 10 miles per hour over the speed limit will receive a $50 fine.
