BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - The future of Canyon Village Apartments is on hold for now, but both the city and residents alike are hopeful that things may finally be turning a corner.

At a Building and Standards Commission meeting on Monday afternoon, city leaders delayed action on the troubled complex, giving new ownership until October to submit a comprehensive repair plan.

Martin Zimmerman, the city’s director of development services, said the complex has a lot of work ahead of it.

“We think that it can be done. It’s just- it needs a proper plan. It needs proper permits, it needs- in some cases- licensed individuals to do the work,” listed Zimmerman.
