ASHEVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- Governor Josh Stein has announced the 2025 recipients of the North Carolina Award, the state’s highest civilian honor.

This year, the ceremony will take place in Asheville on Thursday, November 13, marking the first time the event will be held outside the capital city of Raleigh.

The celebration will honor six individuals for their contributions to the state in Fine Arts, Literature, Public Service, and Science.

All proceeds from the event will support Hurricane Helene recovery efforts, benefiting communities in western North Carolina through the Community Foundation of NC.
