WEST, Texas — A Central Texas rivalry is set to headline the 6 News First Friday Night Lights Game of the Week as Robinson travels to West for a highly anticipated season opener.

The matchup comes on the heels of last year’s thriller, when Robinson beat West 23-21 in a dramatic three-overtime battle. The two programs met again in 7-on-7 competition this summer, with West pulling out a last-second win on a Hail Mary.

Robinson enters 2025 with new leadership under head coach Kevin Brown, who previously coached at the University of Texas at San Antonio. His Rockets will look to build early momentum against a West team eager to get revenge after last year’s loss.
