Jonny Mitchell, the former headteacher of Thornhill Community Academy, found fame when he appeared in the 2013 documentary Educating Yorkshire.

Over a decade later, life has taken quite a turn for Mr Mitchell, who was at the helm of the Dewsbury school during its Channel 4 exposure.

The reality show, which offered an unvarnished look at the lives of students and teachers grappling with friendship fallouts and exam stress, saw Mr Mitchell transition to the role of head at Co-op Academy Leeds in Harehills.

After leaving Thornhill post-filming in 2015, his position was filled by Matthew Burton in 2018.

Mr Mitchell then took up the reins as headteacher of Netherwood Academy in Wombwell, Barnsley, where he is believed to be currently serving, reports Yorkshire Live .
