LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A new affordable housing complex has opened in the Russell neighborhood.

The Richmond made its grand debut on Tuesday.

The new complex is a 15-unit building named in recognition of former Louisville Urban League President Ben Richmond.

Prior to his death in 2024 , he led the organization for 30 years, pushing economic development in west Louisville while championing diversity and inclusion across the city.

Kevin Dunlap, who serves as president of Rebound, Inc., said the complex serves as a testament to everything Richmond valued and was passionate about in his life.

“One of the greatest honors I had was that before he passed we got to actually share this with Ben,” he said. “We know that he is incredibly proud and looking down on this today because he was so excited
