Two Katy ISD students are working to make tools such as electronics, camping gear and lawn equipment more accessible to their communities.

Jordan High School seniors Kyle Nguyen and Rishan Hemrajani became friends after studying together for a chemistry class last year.

They noticed that they often had to buy materials for class projects that they only used once or twice.

"We kind of just thought, ‘Hey, how could we be more sustainable and come up with a resource that the community can share?'" Nguyen said.

The students were inspired in part by the Houston Public Library, which runs a "Library of Things" where residents can check out everything from cookware to musical instruments and science kits.

But no such resource existed at the Fulshear Librar
