VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) — A dispatcher has retired after 26 years of service with Evansville-Vanderburgh Central Dispatch.
A celebration was held on Tuesday to honor Dispatcher Amanda Bogard and mark her retirement.
"We're with some of these people more than we are our own family - holidays, everything," Bogard told 44News. "Some people work all their life and never find the job that they like, and I loved my job, so it is hard to leave. And I love the people that work here."
Other first responders participated in Tuesday's celebration by driving by and activating their sirens in Bogard's honor.
