EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — A man was charged after allegedly assaulting a gas station worker with a golf club and stealing cash from the register.
Evansville police responded to a welfare check at the Marathon gas station on North First Avenue just after 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
Investigators reviewed video footage showing the suspect, Sandeep Kumar, taking more than $750 from the cash register.
Authorities found a victim who had been struck with a golf club.
Kumar was booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail on charges of theft and battery with a deadly weapon.
