Minnesota prosecutors filed misdemeanor disorderly conduct charges Tuesday against a woman, identified as Shiloh Hendrix, accused of repeatedly using a racist slur toward a Black child at a Rochester playground — an incident that drew national outrage and that the woman has since used to raise more than $800,000 online.

The criminal complaint alleges the defendant "wrongfully and unlawfully engaged in offensive, obscene, abusive, boisterous, or noisy conduct, or in offensive, obscene, or abusive language that would reasonably tend to arouse alarm, anger or resentment in others." A viral video of the April confrontation showed Hendrix admitting to using the n-word, repeating it toward the boy, and flashing her middle finger at a man who challenged her.
