A high school football game in Kentucky was the scene of a shooting incident, with one 14-year-old boy later arrested for discharging a weapon.

The teenager sparked panic when he opened fire near the stadium, which resulted in players abandoning the field as they ran for cover.

The shooting occurred during a game between the Mayfield and Graves high schools, referred to as the “Battle of the Birds.” It follows a string of strange events in high school football, including one school canceling an entire season and another closing in on a 10-year losing streak.

It was recorded on a livestream broadcast by the Red Helmet Sports Network. The video, which was posted via Twitter/X, shows the referee running towards the players, who scramble away from the area of play.
