LOUISVILLE, Ky. — West Louisville's Nia Center may soon be sold to a community nonprofit if negotiations succeed.

On Tuesday, the Transit Authority of the River City (TARC) announced it had entered an exclusive negotiation period with the West Louisville Dream Team over the small business hub's sale.

"The period will last 14 days and commence upon the submission of TARC’s response to West Louisville Dream Team’s letter of intent," officials said in a statement.

Negotiations come after a months-long battle between TARC and small business owners who want to keep their storefronts.

In late July, West Louisville Dream Team put up a $2.1 million bid to purchase the property.
