Alabama football’s trip back to Nick Saban’s home state isn’t happening. The Crimson Tide and West Virginia canceled their home-and-home scheduled for the 2026 and 2027 seasons, UA announced on Tuesday.

In the Mountaineers’ place on the 2026 schedule, East Carolina will come to Tuscaloosa. The move to a far less compelling matchup came after the SEC moved to a nine-game conference schedule starting in 2026, meaning the Crimson Tide would have had 11 Power 4 games on the slate.
