The Carolina Panthers have released former Pro Bowl receiver Hunter Renfrow, the team has announced .

Renfrow made his return to the NFL this offseason after missing 2024 while battling ulcerative colitis -- an autoimmune disease that led to his weight dropping to 150 pounds.

The former Clemson star, who won a pair of national titles during his college career, had a strong training camp.

Panthers Pro Bowl cornerback Jaycee Horn said during training camp that Renfrow was “impossible to guard.”

Still, the Panthers cut him.

Before this preseason, Hunter Renfrow last played in the NFL in 2023, catching 25 passes for 255 yards for the Las Vegas Raiders. He was named a Pro Bowler for the Raiders in 2021 after catching 103 passes for 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns -- all career highs.
