MADISON (WKOW) — Authorities continue to investigate Andrew Showers, a 37-year-old priest, who served at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish through the Diocese of Madison. Showers has not been formally charged after his arrest on child sex crimes, but has been released on bond.

Police were alerted on Sunday night that Showers was traveling to Clintonville to meet a 14-year-old girl for sexual activity. He was arrested and booked into the Waupaca County Jail on charges of child enticement, use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime, and attempted second-degree sexual assault of a child.

Clintonville Police Chief Craig Freitag said he couldn't share many details of the investigation but encouraged parents to check their children's phones.
