It’s long been said that Michigan has two seasons: winter and road construction.

That has never been more true than over the last few years, as Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s road bonding program and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law turbocharged investments to repair and enhance Michigan’s crumbling transportation infrastructure. But as ubiquitous as the construction barrels have been, the job is nowhere near done, and the progress we’ve made is at risk of being undone by broken politics in Lansing.
