MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Crews were able to put out a fire that broke out in a Bethesda townhouse on Tuesday evening, with one cat believed to have escaped the fire.
The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) responded to the four-level home in the 5100 block of Dudley Lane in Bristol Square shortly before 7:30 p.m.
There, Pete Piringer, MCFRS Spokesman, said a fire had started in the lower-level kitchen. Smoke alarms alerted the residents, and they were able to get out safely.
One cat who had been on the counter was believed to have escaped safely.
