There was a dress rehearsal at Pinnacle Bank Arena last week. Not for a performance of any kind but for a new scoreboard.
Things weren’t perfect when the state-of-the-art Mitsubishi scoreboard was raised into place Thursday above the center of the arena floor and switched on.
So it was lowered and arena staff and contractors worked throughout the day Friday to get it ready for the 6 p.m. tipoff of the nationally televised AVCA First Serve volleyball event.
“That kind of tweaking is normal,” said arena manager Tim Savona. “It’s not normal to finish your job hours before you present it on a national stage.”
The scoreboard and ribbon boards worked well during the three days of the AVCA event and the graphics used were still showing at a Tuesday media event rather than t
