CLEVELAND, Ohio - A Cuyahoga County grand jury indicted 24-year-old Jaymone Whitaker II for a car crash that killed an innocent woman and injured several others on Monday during a pursuit with Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Deputies.

37-year-old Sharday Denise Elder was killed when she was hit by Whitaker’s car while he was fleeing deputies on Cleveland’s East Side.

One count of Involuntary Manslaughter (F1)

One count of Aggravated Vehicular Homicide (F1)

Three counts of Aggravated Vehicular Assault (F2)

One count of Failure to Comply with an Order or Signal of a Police Officer (F3)

One count of Child Endangering (F3)

The investigation was conducted by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department and the Cleveland Division of Police.

The chase started at East 13th and St. Clair at 1:16 a.m.
