ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KFVS) - St. Louis Cardinals slugger Willson Contreras was suspended for six games for his actions following his ejection Monday night against the Pirates.

Contreras is appealing the decision, so he will be available until his appeal is ruled upon.

Contreras threw a bat that accidentally hit Cardinals Hitting Coach Brant Brown during the incident.

Manager Oliver Marmol was also ejected during the argument.
