Seventeen-year-old Lucian Noble was “just coming into his own” as a young man and had so much to live for, his dad says.

His mom says her son “loved life and going on adventures.”

But their lives changed forever on July 5 when police officers and victim services showed up at their door.

“Well I pretty much fell on the ground,” said Jonathan Noble. “As soon as I saw the cops come through the gate and he said there was an accident out at the lake, I kind of had a feeling.”

Their son Lucian had just died after jumping off a 100 foot or 30.5 metre cliff at Comox Lake, a spot called Devil’s Ladder.

“Seventeen-year-old kid didn’t realize when you jump 100 feet that it’s like hitting cement,” Daniela Noble said.
