More than thirty years ago, the hyperbaric chamber for humans began to be incorporated into daily Venezuelan medical practice and, today, is one of the most widely used devices by specialists for the administration of high-pressure oxygen, with the aim of facilitating the recovery of affected tissues, wound healing, and other benefits.

Since February 2024, the Animal Service Center, led by Dr. Ciro Ostos, has implemented the hyperbaric chamber for veterinary use for the first time in Venezuela, as a device within the Integrative Medicine program, which allows animals to undergo regenerative, anti-inflammatory, healing, and disinfection therapies, supplying them with 100% pure oxygen (medical grade) at pressures higher than atmospheric.
