BOSTON, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Several failures have been brought to light Tuesday following an audit of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

The audit found a slew of failures including not investigating reports of child abuse, special education complaints, and not overseeing the use of non-disclosure agreements by school districts.

State Auditor, Diana Dizoglio, released a statement regarding these findings Tuesday night saying in part: “Each day these challenges go unaddressed is another day a student may miss out on the supports they need to be able to reach their highest potential.
