IOWA CITY — The 2025 college football season is less than five days away from kickoff in Iowa City.
Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz met with the media on Tuesday ahead of the Hawkeyes’ season opener against UAlbany at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
The 27 th year head coach offered insight into which true freshmen will see the field, who will start at left tackle and long snapper and how the program avoided injury during fall camp.
Freshman RB has ‘green light’
Most of Iowa’s freshmen will not see action against the Great Danes. According to Ferentz, the lack of game reps for the Hawkeyes’ 2025 recruiting class does not speak to the talent in the group.
“We haven’t been playing that many freshmen at the end of the day the last couple of years,” Ferentz said.
