PRATTVILLE − Mayor Bill Gillespie Jr appeared to have been re-elected easily to his fourth term as Prattville's leader Tuesday without the need for a runoff, gathering about 61 percent of the votes in a five-man race.

The other big news of the night was the apparent defeat of Prattville District 7 Councilwoman Lora Lee Boone, who also serves as council president, to challenger Thea Langley.

In the mayor's race Gillespie took 3,863 votes in the complete but unofficial results. Challenger Dennis Mullins came in second with 2,062 votes or about 33 percent, The field rounded out was by Reuben Gardener at 277 votes, David Melling at 84 votes and Devin Moore with 49 votes.
