New York lawmakers are reacting to the many Capital Region animal abuse cases as of late and some are calling it an epidemic. Others are reacting to what is and what isn’t being done to protect your pets.

“It's the Wild West for boarding or taking care of your animal with housing. If you go on vacation or you're doing something with your house to rehab it, you want to have your dogs kept safely.” New York Senator Jim Tedisco explained there is no real oversight when it comes to operating an animal boarding establishment., “We don't have that right now as far as we know.
