JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — A week after the Jerome School District debuted its new bussing system to mixed reviews, leading to a two-day closing of classes and a re-tooling of the program. Emotions remain high among some parents of students.

While it was not officially on the agenda, the bussing issues were top of mind as the school district’s board of trustees met on Tuesday night. Dozens of parents showed up expressing their concerns to the board.

Some of the concerns were young kids having to walk home from school, safety concerns and a lack of communication from the district. Parents complained about reaching out to the district office and not receiving a response.
