BUTLER TWP — Longtime parishioners at the Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church got a glimpse of a face-lift at the building, as the three iconic golden domes are in the process of receiving a fresh coat of paint this month.

According to longtime parishioner Karen Sheptak and the Rev. Yurii Bobko, this marks the first time the iconic domes have been painted in about 50 years, when the church received a renovation in the 1970s.

“It’s quite fascinating to see the huge equipment that is necessary to use to reach the main center dome, as well as the two small entry domes,” Sheptak said.

Bobko said the work is expected to be complete by the end of the month.
