Yet another portion of Interstate 80 will be closed near Des Moines for overnight construction.

Drivers traveling westbound on I-80 who hope to connect to westbound Interstate 235 at the northeast mixmaster will need to take a detour on Wednesday, Aug. 27, when the Iowa Department of Transportation closes the ramp for nearby construction work.

When will the Iowa DOT close part of the northeast mixmaster?

Beginning at 10 p.m. on Aug. 27 until 5 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, weather permitting, crews will close the ramp connecting westbound I-80 to I-235, according to the Iowa DOT.

During the closure, maintenance work will be taking place on the bridge over Broadway Avenue.
