The mom of a UMass student murdered in DC says she hopes the National Guard’s deployment in the nation’s capital will bring justice for her heartbroken family.
Tamara Tarpinian-Jachym and her family are grappling with the trauma of her son being killed just days before the Fourth of July. But they’ve gained some hope since President Trump federalized Washington’s police department earlier this month.
“I hope they capture Eric’s killer,” the mother told the Herald on Tuesday. “I am hoping that with the Guard there, it will give them enough time because the cops have more time to solve outstanding crimes.”
“I’m hoping they find the person or persons who are responsible for murdering my son,” she added.
