A Norwegian Air Boeing 737 was forced to make an emergency landing after an explosion shortly after take-off. The flight, which was en route to Paris, departed from Stockholm's Arlanda Airport with 181 passengers on board. Shortly after take-off, a loud bang was heard, prompting the pilot to circle back to the airport for safety.
Debris was discovered on the runway as the aircraft prepared for its emergency landing this morning, Wednesday, August 27. A Norwegian press officer confirmed that the incident was due to a "technical problem" affecting one of the tyres.
The spokesperson stated, "The plane took off as planned. But when it was in the air, the pilot needed to turn around and go back to Arlanda due to technical problems." Emergency services, including police and paramedics, were dispatched to the runway in response to the situation.
The pilot was reportedly preparing for a hard landing as the aircraft returned to Arlanda. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries among the passengers or crew. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of the Boeing 737 MAX, which has faced scrutiny in the past.
