DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - Two brothers were called to the front of a school assembly Tuesday at All Saints Catholic School on Tuesday, but they weren’t in trouble.

What Preston and Quintin Zubeck didn’t know was their mom, school officials and military service members were just around the corner and had something much bigger in store for them.

“When I saw them walk in with the soldiers, I didn’t know what to think, but I did see the box, so I was like, ‘What’s happening right now?’,” Preston said.

In the box was a plaque honoring their father, Army Maj. Richard D. Zubeck who died after a battle with PTSD in 2019.

“To me it feels like they gave me a piece of my life back,” Preston said.

Their mom, Jessi Zubeck, hopes the boys know that they are loved and that their dad is watching over
