A man was arrested after he allegedly choked and killed his roommate at an assisted living facility in Miami's Flagami neighborhood on Tuesday morning, according to an arrest report.

Miami Police officials said officers responded to a home in the 5100 block of Northwest 4th Terrace that serves as Princess Gardens Assisted Living Facility at around 8:26 a.m. for a call of two men who were engaged in a physical altercation.

According to an arrest report, the suspect, 79-year-old Jerome John Babij, was seen by witnesses choking his roommate in their room.

At one point, the report describes that the suspect yelled, "He's trying to kill me!"

As the witnesses dragged Babij away, he allegedly "kicked the victim in the head and leg as he lay on the floor."
