DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A judge has sentenced a man to spend the rest of his life in prison following two separate rape cases.

DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston said Nathan Mullins, 36, who was accused in two separate assaults of women inside their homes, entered guilty pleas in both cases.

The first crime stems back to June 4, 2019. A 29-year-old woman was asleep on her couch when she woke up because someone was touching her, the DA's office said. There was a masked man pointing a gun at her. Prosecutors said in a news release that the man demanded money; when she said she didn't have any, the woman was sexually assaulted.

"While male DNA was recovered, there was no database match at the time, and the case went cold," the DA's office said.
