Duke football will open its 2025 season the same way it did a year ago – under the lights at Wallace Wade Stadium against Elon at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The Blue Devils took down the Phoenix 26-3 in last year's season opener, which also served as coach Manny Diaz's head coaching debut in Durham. Duke returns 14 starters from its squad that went 9-4 last year with a trip to the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl while bringing in 28 true freshman and nine transfers.

While Duke does not not enter the 2025 season ranked in the Top 25 of the 2025 Preseason US LBM Coaches Poll or the preseason AP Poll, it has high hopes for the team with its sights set on the College Football Playoffs.
