BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — First-round draft pick Maxwell Hairston will start his rookie season with the Bills on injured reserve, the team announced Tuesday upon finalizing its initial 53-player roster. Hairston, the speedy cornerback drafted 30th overall out of Kentucky, won't take up an active roster spot after being placed on IR with a designation to return after four games because of a ligament injury he sustained early in training camp. Offensive tackle Tylan Gable also was placed on IR because of a concussion.

Second-year receiver Tyrell Shavers made the 53-player roster following another standout preseason performance. Shavers spent last season on Buffalo's practice squad. The rest of the roster is largely made up of players who were expected to make the team before training camp. Pla
