Valerie “Val” Jean (Clayton) Seamons, 61, of Hailey, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 22, surrounded by close friends and family, due to complications from a stroke.

Born March 11, 1964, in Burley to Bill and Jean Clayton, Val grew up in Hailey, where she was known for her kindness, warmth and gentle spirit. She graduated from Wood River High School in 1982, attended the University of Idaho and later earned her business degree from Idaho State University.

In 1987, she married David Seamons. Together they raised two sons, Trent and Nathan. Val worked in accounting and retired from the Blaine County School District in 2024 after 21 years of service.

Val cherished the outdoors—camping, boating, snowmobiling and later making memories at the family cabin in Pine. She had a gift for bringing
