Paul Gallagher appears in court charged with rape

The brother of Liam and Noel Gallagher has appeared in court accused of a number of alleged offences, including rape.

Paul Gallagher, the older brother of the Oasis stars, is charged with rape, coercive and controlling behaviour, three counts of sexual assault, three counts of intentional strangulation, two counts of making a threat to kill and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The alleged offences took place between 2022 and 2024, according to the charge sheet.

The 59-year-old, of East Finchley in north London, was pictured arriving at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday morning.

During a brief five-minute hearing, he spoke only to confirm his name, age and address. No pleas were entered.
