ALMA, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The trial for an Alma man accused of shooting his mother-in-law in the face in April has been delayed until later this year, according to court documents.
Khristopher Miller, 37, was arrested on April 8 on three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, one count of attempted murder and one count of first-degree battery. He pleaded not guilty on April 23.
Miller's trial was set to begin on Aug. 27, but prosecutors filed a motion on Aug. 18 asking for the trial to be pushed back "to allow for continued negotiations." The judge approved the motion on Aug. 25.
A hearing in the case is scheduled for Nov. 17, and Miller's new trial date is Nov. 20.
