FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A Fort Smith man facing charges in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that occurred in March has had his trial delayed, according to court documents.
John Bailey, 52, was arrested on March 18 on leaving the scene of an accident with a serious injury charge. A negligent homicide charge was added after the victim in the incident died on March 20.
He pleaded not guilty to both charges in Sebastian County Circuit Court on March 24.
A filing dated Aug. 20 said there was incomplete discovery between the prosecution and defense. The filing also said that the Arkansas State Crime Lab has not furnished completed reports, including autopsy results.
