MADISONVILLE, Ky. (WFIE) - Madisonville Police Department officials say a man is in jail after possessing dangerous pit bulls.

According to a police report, dispatch received a call for service at the 300 block of Bernard Driver in reference to dogs running loose.

The caller told dispatch there was an aggressive pit bull running through her back yard and was concerned for her 3-year-old child.

Officers discovered the dogs lived in a home the 1500 block of Anne Drive on Tuesday morning.

An officer attempted to speak with the homeowner, later identified as Christopher Adams, but was then surrounded by multiple pit bull dogs, barking and aggressively coming after them.

The officer attempted to pepper spray the dogs, which slowed them down.
