Creekview finished in third place of District 6-5A Division I but was one of the great turnaround stories of the year. After hiring head coach Dusty Ortiz with the summer already underway, he wasted no time imprinting his composure and belief onto his team.

The Mustangs had lost 21 games in a row heading into the season opener and picked up a hard-fought win over Irving to break back into the win column and found their way to an 8-0 start before falling to the first- and second-place teams in their district, with their season coming to a close in the bi-district round against Frisco Reedy.
