Hope is a powerful emotion; it can make you believe in the improbable and even the impossible. Football has had numerous examples of hopeful athletes or teams, and one team needs hope more than others: Emporia High School. After back-to-back winless seasons for Emporia High, they are hoping to right the ship with a new captain to get back in the win column.

Coming into the season, the team saw Head Coach Kaden Glinsmann resign from his post after two seasons with the Spartans. To replace him is Daniel Goodman, an Emporia State and Emporia High graduate. He is looking to turn around a program that hasn’t seen much success since 2019, their last season with a record above .500.
