A group of suspects who allegedly shot at sheriff's deputies during a vehicle pursuit were in custody this morning after a search in a Compton neighborhood.
Deputies began pursuing the suspects after receiving a shots-fired call around 10:40 p.m. Tuesday and spotting their vehicle on the westbound 91 Freeway, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The suspects exited the freeway at Central Avenue in Compton, then drove to 139th Street and Parmlee Avenue, where they left their vehicle, LASD Deputy Tracy Koerner told City News Service.
After exiting the vehicle, the suspects ran into the surrounding neighborhood and deputies established a perimeter in the 14100 block of South Zamora Avenue.
