(FOX40.COM) — A person was hit by a car and left with severe injuries on Tuesday night, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

Police said officers responded to reports of a vehicle versus pedestrian crash around 8:15 p.m. on the 3100 block of Northgate Boulevard.
SPD arrived to find a man with life-threatening injuries in the roadway. He was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition.
The driver remained at the scene of the crash.
According to SPD, detectives from the Major Collision Investigations Unit and Crime Scene Investigators responded and investigated the incident.
