WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) -- Kansas is in the top 10 of the most intelligent states in the nation.

That's according to the EssayShark website, which examined six key metrics across all 50 states, including average IQ scores, high school completion rates, literacy rates, college entrance exam results, and economic performance. EasyShark created a scoring system based on those metrics, scaled from 0 to 10, with negative factors, such as literacy challenges, being factored into the scoring.

Kansas ranked seventh out of all 50 states, achieving an overall score of 73.36. Data shows that Kansans have an average IQ of 102.8 with a 92.6% graduation rate.

Coming in first is Minnesota, which boasts residents with an average IQ of 103.7, and with just 5.7% of its residents lacking a high school diplom
