BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Police Department said a man who was listed in critical condition from a shooting has died in the hospital.

Officers say they were called to the scene on Marque Ann Drive shortly after 4 a.m., Tuesday, August 26.

Upon arrival, police say a male victim was found lying in the street with at least one gunshot wound. Emergency officials treated and transported him to a local hospital.

He later died from his injuries.

He has been identified as Braxton Scott, 38.

During the course of an investigation, detectives were able to develop Thomas King as a suspect in this shooting.

With the assistance of the Zachary Police Department and the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Department, police say they were able to arrest King in Zachary.
