Dakota Guerrant tagged around his father after the final bell hit during grade school, middle school and junior high to watch how high school football players trained under the guidance of Rod Oden and Gerald Guerrant.

Oden and Guerrant were part of one of the top coaching staffs in the state, developing players like two-time Super Bowl champion Brandon Graham (Eagles) at Detroit Crockett, Chauncey Golston and Samuel Womack (49ers, Colts) at Detroit East English, and now at Harper Woods.

It’s obvious Dakota watched, learned and then put all the tricks of the trade to good use while playing at Harper Woods. He helped Harper Woods earn its first state championship in program history his freshman year in 2023, and then a state semifinal appearance last year.
