ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - A man faces criminal charges after he allegedly defiled a Jewish Student Union sign in St. Louis County earlier this month.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has charged Michael Burleson, 34, of St. Louis County with one count of harassment motivated by discrimination to frighten or disturb another person and second-degree property damage.

According to a probable cause statement obtained by FOX 2, surveillance video shows a suspect, later identified as Burleson, defiling the Jewish Student Union's sign at 8037 Delmar Blvd. around 11 p.m. on August 6.

Investigators say the sign originally read "We Stand with Israel" and Burleson allegedly modified it to read "We Genocide Israel."
