SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Slick's, a staple in Schenectady for 50 years, is reopening with new owners after being closed for more than a year. Slick’s 1804 Tavern, according to its Instagram page, is set to reopen on September 9 at 11 a.m.

Slick’s first opened its doors in 1974 at 127 South Ferry Street in the Stockade neighborhood. The tavern originally closed in September 2022 so former owners Michael and Barbara Naumoff could retire. However, the restaurant reopened with the same owners in September 2023 after being closed for a year.

The Naumoffs then sold the restaurant to new owners Andrew and Maureen Ottati and officially retired in July 2024. The Ottatis spent some time renovating the tavern over the past year.
